It's Raining Shoes!

The luxury department store Selfridges - which takes up an entire block on Oxford Street in London- has revealed today that it's opening a men's footwear department.

250 brands, 3200 different styles and 72,000 pairs. Now that's a lot of shoes!
This opening comes two years after Selfridges launched its 35,000 sq ft shoe galleries for  women.

Within the store, there are "apartment" areas where individual designers show off their collections. It is the world's biggest shoe department, with designer names such as Chanel and Jimmy Choo as well as high street designers like Topshop and River Island.

It has been reported that prices range from the reasonable £25 for Havaianas flip-flops to over £10,000 for bespoke items from Tom Ford. There is even a section dedicated to driving shoes- what more do men want?

This announcement follows the news last week that the department store is expected to top £1billlion in sales for the first time. Clearly the world-renowned store is going from strength to strength.
